In the spirit of the holy month, Ramadhan, on Sunday May 26, 2019 LIA Pramuka’s English Club invited orphans from Yayasan Nurul Iman Jafariah to join its charity program, an annual program that the club holds as part of its commitment to contribution towards society.
As a leading English institution in the country, LIA has always been in the forefront of promoting the importance of learning English, and on this occasion, these orphaned children were given exposure to English in a fun and relaxing setting. They were engaged in songs and games, and even managed to showcase some English-based performances after being trained by the club members.
As it is also important to take care of one’s health during the fasting month, LIA also gave an oral health presentation to promote oral health awareness among the children. They learned about how to take care of their oral and dental health properly, and were given a free dental check-up afterwards.
Donations in the form of money and gifts were given at the end of the gathering, after a warm Iftar that followed a short religious talk from Ustadz Syarif Hidayat, M.Pd.
